Welcome
Welcome to our web site.It has been designed
to give some brief information about the twinning charter between St
Ismier and Stroud. From time to time, you'll see developments and additions
to the site that we hope, will both inform and entertain. Here you can
download pdfs of our Twinning Charter and Membership form.
Programme for the July visit by Ismérusiens
to Stroud
We will be welcoming our French guests on the 10th July and offering
them a varied programme of events and activities.
As the programme is lengthy, exciting and complex, it
is best viewed as a downloadable pdf document which you can download
by clicking below.

Stroud French Connections
Stroud French Connections came into being in 2004, and the twinning
with
St. Ismier was set up following approaches from this small French
town near Grenoble. A preliminary visit to Stroud was made by a group
from St. Ismier, including the Mayor, Mme Lucile
Ferradou, in July
2004. Firm friendships were established with this visit, and have
continued to build with subsequent visits continuing.

Twinning Signs
Our partners in St.Ismier moved rapidly with physical signs of their
commitment to our twinning and errected road signs proclaiming their
pride. Stroud's signs are now in place, along with 'St. Ismier
Corner', at the junction of London Road and Cornhill.
Events
As a twinning organisation, we are keen to set up events that will
promote the twinning, increase awareness of St. Ismier, and help people
to meet and enjoy learning about the French way of life. We want to
include all ages, and actively encourage participation of clubs, sports
associations and schools. To date, we have put on French language classes,
enjoyed French meals at a local restaurant, played skittles at a local
pub, and put children in contact with pen-friends in St. Ismier.
